Shri Gopalan S, Independent Director, NeRL, emphasised the importance of awareness for wider adoption of eNWRs and ease of pledge financing. NeRL also demonstrated the end-to-end process of eNWR generation and obtaining pledge finance through eKUN. The programme highlighted the benefits of the WDRA ecosystem in facilitating scientific storage and access to finance for stakeholders.

The conference, themed ‘Cultivating Tomorrow: Reimagining Global Agriculture for 2030 and Beyond’, brought together leaders and members from international forums to discuss the future of global agriculture and food security.

Description: NeRL participated in the WDRA Outreach and Awareness Program held at Sangli, Maharashtra, with around 250 farmers, traders and bankers in attendance. Shri Ashok Kakade, Collector and District Magistrate, Sangli, and Shri Shanti Lal Jain, Member, WDRA, were the Chief Guests at the event. The program highlighted the importance of scientific storage through WDRA-registered warehouses and the benefits of eNWRs for warehousemen and depositors. Sachin Wagle, Chief of Operations, NeRL, encouraged attendees to become part of the WDRA ecosystem and leverage the benefits of eNWRs.

Description: NeRL, in collaboration with the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), participated in the WDRA Outreach Program on Warehouse Registration & Pledge Finance against eNWRs in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, with more than 250 farmers, traders and warehousemen in attendance. The program highlighted eNWR adoption, warehouse registration and access to post-harvest finance. NeRL demonstrated the end-to-end journey of eNWR generation and obtaining a loan through the eKUN platform, while Shri Saurabh Khanna, MD & CEO, NeRL, highlighted the role of eNWRs in enabling digitalisation and financing without physical movement of commodities.

Description: NeRL, in collaboration with WDRA and Jammu & Kashmir Bank, hosted a workshop on financing against Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (eNWR) in Srinagar. The event was presided over by Shri Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, and witnessed active participation from local apple farmers and stakeholders. A key highlight was the sanctioning of a loan against eNWR through eKUN to an apple farmer from Jammu & Kashmir, marking an important step towards facilitating access to finance against stored commodities. The workshop also marked the inclusion of Apple, a perishable commodity, in the WDRA ecosystem, with registration certificates being handed over to three apple cold storage owners by Shri Shanti Lal Jain, Member, WDRA, and Shri Amitava Chatterjee, MD & CEO, Jammu & Kashmir Bank.
